LANDSCAPE DESIGN

The landscape design is by far the most important step of any landscape construction process because it is the construction “map” of what is to come about. THE PROCESS

FIRST MEETING

Don’t know where to start? In the initial meeting, you will get to know Karina a little better and she will conduct a detailed needs assessment to determine your specific landscaping needs. Important topics such as patio areas, swimming pools, screening certain views, children’s features, outdoor dining areas, domestic animals, and safety lighting will be some of the many topics considered in his analysis to help formulate the ideal landscape design for you.

PRELIMINARY DESIGN

In the preliminary design process, Karina will show you a rendition of your future yard so you will begin to visualize how it is taking shape. She uses different techniques to show you how your yard can come to life from life-like 3D Renderings to simple black and white concept plans. Whatever is easier for you to read and understand. Important factors like possible materials, colors, design elements and plant selections are determined together at this meeting. Modifications to the landscape design plan may be made at this time.

FINALIZED DESIGN

Your design destination realized. This is an exciting time! A completed set of your custom landscape design plans will be delivered and explained for you. Karina will personally walk you through your future yard space and answer all your questions. By now you will have a solid understanding of what to expect going forward to the construction phase.

CONSTRUCTION

Implementation of the plans. Upon request, Karina can provide a detailed landscape construction proposal to begin the implementation process of your new yard. K Associates Design works very closely with local reputable licensed landscape contractors who can work off your plans to bring them to life. Whether realizing the entire plan at once or building it in phases, once construction is completed you will have the yard of your dreams!

LANDSCAPING PLANS OFFERED

The best landscape plan which shows all plant material listed and itemized and specialty hardscape features and areas. This is a master plan which is appropriate for any HOA approval, most city/county permitting if necessary and of course contractor use for bidding and building.

At night, your landscape becomes a whole different place so lighting is crucial. On this plan, all locations of low-voltage landscape lighting such as pathway lights and up-lights are shown.

No one wants a lake in their backyard, that’s where drainage comes in. On this plan all drain locations are shown on the layout and their flow. This is a very helpful plan for areas with poor drainage or soil percolation.
